Agents Watch Incident
Cursor's AI support agent told users about a company policy that did not exist
An AI support agent answering email for the code editor Cursor told a user that being logged out when switching devices was an intended security policy. No such policy existed, and users had not been told they were corresponding with an AI.

Users were being logged out when moving between machines. When one asked support why, a reply signed "Sam" said the behaviour reflected a policy of one device per subscription. The reply came from an AI support agent, and the policy was not real. The response spread on developer forums, and some users said they would cancel their subscriptions.
A Cursor co-founder said publicly that the company had no such policy and that the reply was "an incorrect response from a front-line AI support bot". He said the logouts were likely linked to a change to session security, that the affected user had been refunded, and that AI-written support replies would now be clearly labelled.
